For this week’s Thursday Tickle we’re continuing on with
the nautical theme with some more in depth info about what Florida has to offer under water. With its
tropical climate and crystal clear water, it’s no wonder that Florida is a great place for water
activities such as kayaking, snorkeling or simply splashing around in the
ocean. Therefore, today, we’ll be looking at some great places to get your
snorkel on!
As we already briefly mentioned before, the water in Florida is supposed to
be so clear that you can see straight to the bottom of the ocean. Coming from a
country where the sea is basically one big muddy pool filled with trash and the
occasional dead jellyfish, this is very exciting indeed. Also, since I am
terrified of all things living in the ocean, this should come in handy when
looking out for any marine life about to touch me under water.
There are lots of places where you can rent snorkels
(or you can always just bring your own) and set off to explore the underwater
marvels. Some places that caught our eye are Boca Raton (Red Reef Beach), Fort
Lauderdale and Key Largo (Long Key State Park or John Pennekamp State Park).
Here you’ll find great patches or coral reef to explore and Red Reef beach also
has some great shallow pools for the beginners amongst us.

Well, I don’t know about you guys but this gets me super
excited for my first snorkelling trip. Floating on the water, gazing at a whole
other world... Ah yes. Paradise. Now let's just hope I don’t snort up too
much water..
Now as always, we’ll leave you with a little video to
really set the mood. Bubbles away!
